Momma & Me Yoga | The Good, the Bad and the Adorable

My Yoga obsession continues! My son is cruising now and I'm so excited to find more ways to engage my little bundle of energy. I took him to the pool yesterday and he loved it! I want to do yoga with him too. When he was really little, before he even crawled, I used Shiva Rea's awesome Momma and Baby Yoga DVD. Once he could crawl he pretty much went off and did his own thing and I did yoga solo. Recently he has come up and climbed on me while I was doing poses so I think it's time to get him involved again.

I found this sweet video on YouTube from YogaEarth and it was exactly what I hope to have with my son someday. :)

For the Love of Yoga

I've decided to do a year of daily yoga. I will confess that I used to see yoga as just another fitness fad that was only meant for the young, beautiful, bendy types or the barley eating hippie types—come on, you know you thought it too—and really who wouldn't with the way it is marketed in the States at least. Recently though, as I watched my infant son learn to roll over and lift his head, gradually building the strength to crawl, stand and generally get into anything below 3 feet off the ground, it made it glaringly obvious to me how natural yoga is…Enter my Eureka moment, in essence, yoga is what my son has been doing every day since the day he was born! My mind was blown. I have always struggled to exercise because it didn't feel natural or bring me any joy—seriously have you ever walked by a gym and looked in the window at the rows of machines and weights surrounding all the sweaty grunting people and thought to yourself, they look so natural and happy—yeah me neither. So I'm diving in, I will keep you updated on the journey. Why do you love yoga? Here's some yoga inspiration…
